SUBARU OF AMERICA NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
For Meals on Wheels America Member programs that have the inability to attend due to financial constraints
Thanks to support from Subaru of America, Meals on Wheels America is pleased to provide need-based scholarships of $1,000 each to assist Members in attending the 2019 Meals on Wheels Annual Conference and Expo this August 27-29, 2019, in Dallas, TX. Scholarship funding can be applied toward the cost of full Conference registration, Pre-Conference event registration, hotel and/or travel.
All active Meals on Wheels America Member programs were eligible to apply for one Subaru of America scholarship to send a staff person or board member to the 2019 Conference. Scholarship applications were judged based on financial need and what could be gained by attending. Applicants were asked to describe their financial or organizational hardships and outline how this year’s Conference focus areas could help overcome these challenges.
NOTE: Each Member program was eligible to receive one scholarship and therefore only one application was reviewed.

PAYMENT INFORMATION
Scholarship award recipients are required to register and pay Conference Full Registration fees. We strongly encourage that recipients register prior to the July 3, 2019 Early Bird deadline to secure the lowest possible rate. A check for the full amount of the scholarship will be mailed to the Member program following the Conference and should be received by the end of September.
THE HOME DEPOT FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
For Meals on Wheels America Member programs that have a focus on improving the safety of their clients
Thanks to support from The Home Depot Foundation, Meals on Wheels America is pleased to provide scholarships of $1,000 each to assist Members in attending the 2019 Meals on Wheels Annual Conference and Expo this August 27-29, 2019, in Dallas, TX. Scholarship funding can be applied toward the cost of full Conference registration, Pre-Conference event registration, hotel and/or travel. The Home Depot Foundation and Meals on Wheels America partner in efforts around in-home safety, so scholarships were granted to organizations who offer, or have a focus on improving, the safety of their homebound clients through fall prevention, safety checks, in-home assessments and/or home modification/repair. The purpose of this scholarship is to create the opportunity to support the continued learning and innovation around safety programs within our network.
All active Meals on Wheels America Member programs were eligible to apply for one Home Depot Foundation scholarship to send a staff person or board member to the 2019 Conference. Scholarship applications were judged on what could be gained by attending and the programs’ current and future work in safety for older adults as part of their service delivery model. Applicants were asked to describe their current and future work in in-home safety and outline how attending this year’s Conference will support their future works.
Scholarship recipients are required to attend Home Depot Foundation-related sessions and events during the Conference.

PETSMART CHARITIES SCHOLARSHIPS
For Meals on Wheels America Member programs that currently offer, or have a focus on establishing, the services provided to pets of their clients
Thanks to the generosity of PetSmart Charities, Meals on Wheels America is pleased to provide scholarships of $1,000 each to assist Members in attending the 2019 Meals on Wheels Annual Conference and Expo. Scholarship funding can be applied toward the cost of full Conference registration, Pre-Conference event registration, hotel and/or travel. Given the support of PetSmart Charities to Meals on Wheels America’s efforts around the human-animal bond, scholarships were given to organizations that currently offer, or have a focus on establishing, the services provided to pets of their Meals on Wheels clients. The purpose of this scholarship is to create the opportunity to support the continued learning and innovation around pet initiatives within our network.
All active Meals on Wheels America Member programs were eligible to apply for one PetSmart Charities scholarship to send a staff person or board member to the 2019 Conference. Scholarship applications were judged on what could be gained by attending and the programs’ current and future work in pet-related services for older adults as part of their holistic service delivery model. Applicants were asked to describe their current and future work in pet care and outline how attending this year’s Conference will support their future works.
