MEALS ON WHEELS AMERICA EXECUTIVES WIN SILVER STEVIE® AWARDS IN 2016 STEVIE AWARDS FOR WOMEN IN BUSINESS

Arlington, VA – November 21, 2016 – Two Meals on Wheels America executives were honored at the 13th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business in New York on Friday, November 19. President and CEO Ellie Hollander was named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the Female Executive of the Year – Government or Non-Profit –11 to 2,500 Employees category, and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Susan Waldman was named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the Woman of the Year - Government or Non-Profit category.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run. All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2016 awards received entries from 31 nations and territories.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 160 professionals worldwide who participated in the judging process this year.

Silver Stevie® Award recipient Ellie Hollander joined Meals on Wheels America as President and CEO in 2013 to lead a nationwide network of community-based programs committed to assuring the health, safety and independence of America’s seniors. Under her leadership, the organization has ignited a social movement to assure an America in which all seniors live more nourished lives. In addition increasing the organization’s revenues by 50% and pursuing the very first Pay for Success transaction for senior services, Ellie continues to aggressively pursue groundbreaking research that demonstrates the impact of Meals on Wheels on the health and well-being of seniors, and the corresponding connection to reduced use of costly healthcare services.

Silver Stevie® Award recipient Susan Waldman was hired as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer in 2013 to revitalize and modernize what had become both one of the most well respected, yet most forgotten about-brands in America. After a full organizational rebrand and the establishment of a multi-year Ad Council Campaign, the brand is emerging once again as a vital presence and invaluable service in communities all across America.
