Arlington, VA, June 24, 2021 – Meals on Wheels America is bringing more than five leading corporations, organizations and foundations together under its newly established annual program: Momentum Circle. Its goal is to collectively continue the fight against the escalating issues of senior hunger and isolation that plague millions of seniors.
TheMomentum Circle represents a cross-sector family of donors who have come together to actively engage in strengthening the Meals on Wheels network and to improve the lives of vulnerable seniors in communities across the country. This annual program provides generous supporters with an opportunity to engage their customers, employees and leadership in a meaningful, national cause at the local level.
“While the country looks eagerly towards the end of the COVID crisis and brighter days ahead, Meals on Wheels programs and their clients have a much longer road to recovery,” said Kristine Templin, Chief Development Officer at Meals on Wheels America. “They are counting on us to keep the momentum of support going, and we can’t do it without our donors. We are truly grateful for their meaningful support of our mission as we continue to respond and recover from the pandemic.”
Even before COVID-19, 10 million seniors were struggling with hunger, and millions more lived in isolation. With the senior population set to double by 2060, these issues will only continue to soar if left unaddressed.
The Momentum Circle launches with two inaugural partners: The Home Depot Foundation and Subaru of America, Inc. Donors to the program include Cooper Tire Foundation, Inc., Reverse Mortgage Funding LLC and SunFire. The generous support of these donors will provide Meals on Wheels America with the ongoing and reliable mission support needed to ensure vulnerable seniors are always safe, cared for and never feel alone.
